10 Years of Lithic Design

As we celebrate a decade of card issuing at Lithic, we’re excited to share the latest evolution of our product and brand design. Our journey has always been about building a platform that is not only powerful but also flexible and intuitive for innovators of all sizes. This refresh aims to lay the groundwork for the next 10 years of innovation at Lithic.

Much like engineering, one of the core challenges that design functions in growing companies face is efficiency and reliability of systems when scaling. Iteration is a tenet of any living design process, but when you reach the limits of a design system’s ability to scale to the changing needs of the business, a more dramatic pivot is often the best path forward.

So, what's new?

Visual Identity System

Our refreshed visual identity system—logo, colors, and brand visual elements—draws inspiration more literally from tactile, faceted stone forms. And our new logomark, the chip, hints at both knapped stone tools and something a little closer to home.

Product Design System

Prior to this brand refresh, we’ve made stealth product design updates, spanning the entire Lithic Dashboard product. Similarly, this update laid the foundation for usability and scalability, setting us up to surface more and more of our API’s functionality.

The Future

Design at Lithic has come a long way since our business was founded 10 years ago, as has the design landscape. The bar for design is higher now than ever, and we continue rising to meet it. We look forward optimistically to the challenges and solutions in the coming years as we push design at Lithic forward.
